The Pansies Band
About:
The Pansies are a Berkeley-based alternative rock band with jazz and folk influences combining covers with lyrically driven original songs. The name is a reclamation of a traditional gay slur as a statement to the queerness of the band.
Some musical inspirations include No Doubt, 070 Shake, Blondie, King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard, and Maggie Rogers. The Pansies got their start by playing gigs at the historic Bowles Hall, a residential college at UC Berkeley during fall of 2023.
The group currently consists of Bella Sonen, Caleb Marsh, Ian Watson, Max Cope, and Sahana Moogi.
